Looks like there's more evidence that Iran is directly involved in the Lebanon attacks. The New York Post is reporting that Israel's accusing Iran of having officers that orchestrated a missile strike on an Israeli warship. It's starting to look like this is a Tehran-backed operation which comes as no big shock. Meanwhile, American security teams are arriving to help evac US citizens from Lebanon.

I've always been a bit susipicious of Syria and Iran and I really think that Tehran is doing a lot more in this war then would appear. It appears that President Bush is backing such claims. The theory is Iran is trying to distract the international pressure being directed to them due to its nuclear program. A very plausible theory and I'm confident will emerge more correct as team moves on.

Few Notes on the Israeli war

Israel's UN Diplomat has noted that international response is much more milder then everyone expected. Instead of massive outrage, Europe is only performing some slight shaking of the head and the typical weasling that it employs. Most Western nations are backing Israeli actions, providing a lot more international support then usual. Perhaps the tide is turning...

Now West Bank terrorists are striking Israel with rockets, creating almost three fronts for Israel to fight on. Rockets have struck all over, more then 80+ have been fired. In addition, a town named Haifa has been hit which is the furthest any rocket has entered Israel. Israellycool has more updates about it.

Hezbollah may be trying to move soldiers to Iran. Iran, which is controlling the Hezbollah, may be using these attacks as opening salvos for a Irsaeli-Arab war. If this is what happens, then dark times could be ahead for Israel. Meanwhile, they are living under a rain of rockets, with terrorists fighters abducting their soldiers. I hope Israel can manage to kick everyone's butts.

And in a bit of UN stupidity, Kofi Annan-a-idiot has sent a three-man team to the Middle East to "defuse the situation". Oh boy. Unless he is sending the majority of the Fantastic Four, I'm sure they'll just get all kinds of results.

A Red Day, A Sword Day

War.

It's what Israel is facing. Due to Hezbollah's, the terrorist group that controls Lebanon assault on Israeli soldiers, Israel has retaliated by full-out offensive into Lebanon. The region is now the biggest powder keg with the shortest fuse. Since the Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers, Israel has moved in. It's been 18 years since Israel has gone across the border. Syria has stated before that they'd defend Lebanon from Israel incursions. If Syria decides to move in, since they back the Hezbollah, Israel is looking at a potentially large conflict.  Coupled with the North Korean incident, global security isn't too good right now.

I wonder sometimes if this is what those who watched Hitler's march into Poland felt like. The dominoes are being setup and all it takes is one small gust to start a huge chain-reaction. It's like we are sitting on the edge and slipping closer and closer. Forces are building up around us and I think we are running out of ideas how to defuse the situation.

I can see how the Israel situation is a building storm. It was just a matter of time before the Gaza strip and Lebanon were dealt with. I just hope Israel can quickly fix the situation before it escalates into a major and drastic situation...

Update: It appears this is a Tehran-orchestrated event, which has serious implications. DEBKAfile is reporting that the Iranian Security Advisor is heading to Damascus. It also reports the Tehran ordered the Hezbollah to attack to open a second front to aid the Hamas in the Gaza strip. It also appears to be a bid to create a major flare-up that will force the G8 summit, which starts on the 15th, to redirect their meeting away from Bush's Iran agenda. Dire implications, indeed...

A Unicorn General

Lt. General Honore is a unicorn in all sense of the word. He was holding a press conference about Hurricane Rita and the press kept asking him about Katrina. He totally chewed them out, telling about how they need to get information to the people about Hurricane Rita. A reporter then asked him about Katrina and he said "You are stuck on stupid."
